Bad to the Bronze and Polished Bronze together

Maybelline's Color Tattoo Bad to the Bronze
vs.
Revlon Polished Bronze eyeshadow

Revlon Polished Bronze eyeshadow is one of my favorite shadows of all time.
I was using it almost everyday with ELF's eyelid primer underneath

However I found an even better alternative!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze
is very very very similar.
(At least in my opinion)

I really enjoy this as a combination.
I can apply Bad to the Bronze then go over it with the Polished Bronze
and it looks perfect and last for hours.

Occasionally I may a bit of a darker color to the outer corner/crease to make a more dramatic look.

(I'll do a tutorial for this soon!)

Anywho both are affordable products that I highly recommend.
You may not think they match as much as I do but here are the pix!

Please excuse the dirty casing

So they're are surely not a perfect match but they are quite beautiful together.
I guess you could say they're a perfect complimentary match. =]
Thanks for reading.
Until next time.

January 2012 Favourites

Monthly Favourites: January 2012
Usually I do Hits & Misses but I have no misses for this month

It’s that time again, favourites/hits and misses time.
This month I didn’t buy anything I didn’t like.
So I only have favs!
I don’t have too many things to talk about, hopefully I will have more to show you for February. =]

Let’s go!

The first thing is something I actually bought a while ago: The ELF Natural Eye Palette

Those are the three colors I use the most.

I purchased this at Target. I am not sure how much it was but I am guessing it was $3.
This palette is an amazing deal! It has everything you need for a smokey eye or natural everyday eyes.
I take this palette with me when I travel because it is very versatile.

The next product is Maybelline Chic Naturals Eyeshadow in Champagne Fizz.

I bought this eyeshadow to use as a highlight color.
The color I used (same line, Linen) to use is essential the same color, only matte.
I didn’t want a shimmery highlight because I have oily skin and I didn’t want to add shimmer, but I realized that matte highlights aren’t as effective.
They don’t create the look I want to achieve. It never makes my feature pop.

I bought this at Kings Soopers I think because it was on sale for (if I remember correctly) $2.54. Usually it’s only a bit more than that I believe.

On another note, if the grocery store you shop at happens to carry drugstore cosmetics I would recommend browsing through them, because you can often find very good deals.
King Soopers has many “Closeout” deals on food items and these deals can also sometimes be found in their cosmetics.
Yesterday I saw that the Maybelline Cream Trios were on Closeout sale.

The next product is Maybelline Color Tattoo.
I just posted a review sans photos. =/
I am working on adding the photos.
I have some photos off my iPhone for this.

I currently have three of the shades.
Tough as Taupe
Bad to the Bronze
and Audacious Asphalt.
However I am only showing Tough as Taupe and Bad to the Bronze because they are my favourites.

Tough as Taupe is one of my everyday go to colors.
I don’t wear it by itself because I find that it is a lot prettier when you add a shadow on top, but it can be worn perfectly well by itself.

Bad to the Bronze is another one of my everyday go to colors.
It’s beautiful and has an amazing sheen to it.
It isn’t too over-powering.
All of the Color Tattoos that I have tried have been very buildable and not to intense at the beginning,
which if you’re looking for a great color payoff with one swipe can be a downside but I prefer colors that have good color pay off with more swipes.
I enjoy having versatile materials, as I am a jobless college student,
so I can make a very natural look with the Color Tattoo if I don’t build the color up, but I can also make a very bold, elegant, or party look too.

Swatches of both:

Tough as Taupe on the left and Bad to the Bronze on the right

My third is another new Maybelline product: Dream Bouncy Blush in Plum Wine.

Plum Wine
The tiny indentation you can see is a finger print. It goes back because it's Bouncy!!! =]

I heard varying reviews on this product.
A lot of people complained about the color payoff and recommended the darker shades that they shied away from before knowing.
People also said they thought it worked better to apply it with their fingers.

In my opinion: I like to apply this blush with my regular blush brush and I get an excellent color payoff.
I can’t speak for the lighter colors as I have only bought this one, but I highly highly highly recommend this one.

It is now my go to blush.
I use it pretty much every day.

The formula is really cool.
I am not sure if that affects the way it performs but it is very neat.
I love the way it is actually bouncy like the name and it seems like it is going to last me a long time.

That is it for my monthly favorites. I know it is Valentine’s Day but it’s better late than never!
I do have two videos to update for you guys
(hopefully you are all subscribed to my beauty channel on YouTube, if not it would make my day if you would subscribe—it’s free. hehe)
Until next time.

Product Review: Maybelline Color Tattoo

New Product
Review:

Maybelline 24hr color tattoo

Hello beauty junkies!
If you haven’t seen these at your local drugstore, Target, or Ulta, either you’re not a real beauty junkie (JK), you live in a cave, or they have been SOLD OUT!

These have created quite a craze around YouTube and the beauty blog community.
People are raving about them.
They have been said to be comparable to MAC paintpots.
I can’t say anything to either support or refute that claim as I have never used a MAC paintpot, but I can tell you that all the hype is completely warranted!

This little glass pots of color are adorable.
The packaging is great and the product is even better.
They are long lasting (maybe not 24 hours but what other than a day lasts that long?)
The colors are amazing!
They have beautiful vibrant shades and neutrals.
Additionally shade Tough as Taupe is a matte color for all you matte color lovers.
I personally am a fan of the sparkle, but Tough as Taupe was the first color I picked up because it looked so versatile.
You can overlay a sparkly eyeshadow or add a matte one.

Also all of the colors are buildable so you can add as much or as little to your lids to create many different looks.
They add a beautiful effect beneath other eyeshadows no matter the amount you put on underneath, or they are beautiful and smudge free by themselves.

I am a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil lover. I may only have three but I L-O-V-E love those three.
However Maybelline Color Tattoo is better.

Here’s why:

-you do not have to the Color Tattoo set with an eye shadow
-the form (I personal don’t like the pencil shape, sharpening is annoying)
-the color payoff is greater
-the staying power
-the Color Tattoo doesn’t crease much

NYX Jumbo Pencils are naturally more creamy than the Maybelline Color Tattoos but with a few circles of the fingers the Color Tattoos warm up from your body heat and have a lovely texture that is easier to apply, than the uber creamy jumbo pencils.

I'll be sure to get one life the two above for Audacious Asphalt.

Hope you enjoyed. Until Next time.

Snow day = Nails day

Hey there!
Since today is a snow day for me I decided to repaint my nails.

I really like the split color look on my thumb and one finger with another color.
Today I didn't use base or a topcoat.
I used two colors and a glitter finish.

I used:

Ulta Mint Condition Nail Lacquer (left)
Essie Jamaica Me Crazy (right)
and Revlon Scented Parfume Colada Fizz (middle)

Ulta Mint Condition:

I really love this color. It's gorgeous and it is almost Tiffany Blue, but the formula is a bit thick. However that can be easily fixed with a nail polish thinner.
Obviously bought it at Ulta.

Essi Jamaica Me Crazy:

One of my current favorite colors. I love this polish. I haven't found one like it anywhere else.
I bought it at Ulta. Only downside Essie Polishes are $8

Revlon Scented Parfume Colada Fizz:

This glitter polish is almost perfect for any color. It's not too glittery and it doesn't make nail polish removal impossible. Also it really does smell good.

Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed. Until next time.
