I didn't remember to check when it ends, but if you're like me you're definitely gonna try and go grab this. I have been dying to try it but thought 15+ was expensive for drugstore, but $10 is less than my Revlon PhotoReady.

DIY: Glitter Nails without the glitter polish

An Easy-Peasy Way to Get Glittery Nails

(without using a glitter nail polish)

If you’re like me, you LOVE glittery nails, but sometimes glitter polishes can be a hassle.

Instead of going on nice and glittery the first time, you have to go back and do two or three more coats just for the glitter to show up.

Now, you don’t have to.

It’s simple easy and very cost effective.

Good drugstore nail polishes (OPI, Essie, Nicole, China Glaze) can be up to $10, high-end ones (Chanel etc.) are upwards of $25.

On the other hand, loose glitter is very cheap.

You can get a set with many different colors, and a little lasts a long time.

You can purchase loose glitter at craft stores such as Michaels, JoAnns, or Hobby Lobby and possibly in the craft section of Targets etc.

  

Products:

Orly Base Coat

Essie Nail polish in Jamaica Me Crazy

Revlon Quick Dry top Coat

Loose glitter in pink and purple

I did my nails as I do in this video

Only skipping the Gel coat before the color polish.

-two coats of base, drying in between

-color polish

Then I put on the quick dry top coat, but instead of just letting it dry I dipped my ring and pinky fingers into the loose glitter.

I will insert a photo as soon as I find my memory card adapter. =[

I first tried to pour the glitter on but I ended up missing a lot of my nail and wasting a lot.

Next I topped it off with another layer of the quick dry top coat and VOILA we’re done.

Products I regret buying #1

Products I Regret Buying.

We’ve all done it.

It’s completely inevitable.

You see an item at the store and you immediately go “I gotta have it!”

Or you simply can’t resist how affordable or convenient the item looks.

Unfortunately, looks can be deceiving, and that amazing looking new (or old) product is completely useless or doesn’t live up to any of the standards you’ve heard or the standards on the packaging.

Here is a list of the items I have bought and now regret buying for either performance or quality.

Now please remember that no two people are alike, so what I thought of an item may not be what you will think of it.

I have tried items raved about on YouTube and been completely disappointed.

I have also tried items many people dislike and have been incredibly surprised and in love with the product.

Now that all of that is out of the way let’s get on with the list.

If you don’t want to read the thorough reviews skip ahead to the “Overall” section for each item.

First: Boots No7 Foundation in 25 Vanilla

This product is found at Target for about $15.

First of all the price is expensive for what essentially is a drugstore product.

I usually use the Revlon PhotoReady Foundation (Medium Beige) and that is anywhere from $10-$13, which is also pricey but, to me, worth it.

Now for this foundation I have absolutely no gripes about the coverage or the finish.

It applies smoothly and lasts the whole day when set with powder. It doesn’t look greasy either.

My problem with this product is that both my mother’s and my skin reacted to the formula.

This foundation is supposed to be hypoallergenic!

Which I guess doesn’t truly mean anything, but still.

I hate false claims.

Too bad the marketing industry employs many millions of them.

My skin flaked and dried out from using this and I noticed red splotches as well as irritation.

It did the same thing for my mother.

Like everyone in the world we have different types of skin, but her and I are not even blood related or of the same ethnicity. (I was adopted)

She had less dryness and more redness.

Overall:

Caused:

-redness

-irritation

-dryness

-too pricey

Second: Maybelline The Falsies Mascara in Blackest Black.

Found at drugstores, supermarkets and target for anywhere from $5-$8

I know that The Falsies Flared is a heavily raved about item on YouTube. I haven’t bought it because I did not like the original and do no like curved brushes.

I do not like this mascara because it definitely does not give me the illusion of “falsies” and I found that my lashes get very clumpy. I also did not enjoy how “wet” the formula was.

For the longest time my favorite mascaras were Maybelline’s Colossal mascaras so I figured I would like all mascaras by Maybelline which was a very dumb conclusion to come to.

Overall:

-Clumpy

-No illusion of “Falsies”

-Wet Formula

Third: Sephora Waterproof Mascara

 (all of the other writing on the packaging wore off so I am not sure if there is another name for it)

It looks like the Triple action, but it had a different brush and I can’t find it on the Sephora website, so it may be discontinued.

This mascara is extremely volumizing and lengthening, but

it was DEFINITELY NOT waterproof for me.

This mascara smudged more than any other mascara that I have tried.

I would end up looking like a raccoon even if I did my smudge-proof mascara trick

Overall:

-smeared

-smudged

-odd wand shape

-great if you want to look like a panda or a raccoon

Fourth: Wet n Wild Mega Protein Mascara

Bought at Wal-Greens for $1.99

Now there’s not much complaining allotted for something that cost me less than 2 bucks. However it is still a waste and money is not something to waste.

I don’t even know where to begin to start with the complaints though.

The brush is way too small. Some sort of smallness is expected since the tube is so small, but I didn’t expect it to be this small.

Additionally the mascara did nothing for my lashes. I didn’t see any added length or volume. It really just made my lashes wet.

This mascara is the runniest mascara I have ever used.

Overall:

-Runny

-Small wand

-No results

-Smeared

Fifth: ELF cream eye shadow duo in Berry Mix

Sold on Eyeslipsface.com for $1

The great thing about ELF items is that if they don’t work out, it didn’t cost you much.

I however HATED this cream eye shadow.

I can’t say anything about it on.

Because I never even put it on.

I looked at it and saw that it looks like there is oil pooling at the top of it.

Even just feeling this product grossed me out!

It was so goopy and oily I knew there was no way I would ever put in on my face!

Overall:

-too oily

-goopy

-gross looking

Sixth: ELF eye shadow duo

I have a white and silver, but there is no longer one available in this color combination.

This product has a lot of fall out. The colors look good, but they don’t last.

The eye shadows are too powdery for smokey eyes or for accurate application.

Overall:

-too much fall out

-powdery

-didn’t last

I don’t have too many products I regret buying but I am going to do another version soon as I have a few more things to show.

I probably had more disappointing products, but I threw them away as I didn’t like them.

Holiday Makeup: Products used

Thanksgiving Holiday Make Up

I did this for Thanksgiving, but it can of course be used for any other holiday or even every day!

So this is a terribly late blog entry, but I figure I should put it up late rather than never.

This look was very easy and fun for me to do. 

I made it up while I was doing it, so please excuse the few mistakes!

Nail Diary November/December

Hello everyone.

It has been awhile, but now that the semester is coming to a close I am hoping I can get everything up to date.

As an easy way to get out of studying I decided to upload all the photos of nail polish looks I had in my phone. 

This one is one I did with two color. The L'Oreal polish I am holding and a NYX black glitter. 

I got the NYX black glitter at Urban Outfitters, however it was on clearance so I am unsure if it is still available. 

The L'Oreal polish was part of their fashion week collection I believe. (I will add the name as soon as I am home)

This is a blurry picture of a more difficult look. 

You have to cut triangles out of scotch tape and apply to a COMPLETELY dry under color. 

Then paint over with desired color. 

Additionally, you must remove the scotch tape very very slowly.

This is just a simple single nail polish look using Nicole by OPI in It Starts With Me. 

This color is an absolutely gorgeous rose gold color. It is definitely one of my favorites.

I think it can be used year round. 

(somehow my nails got bumpy IDK how that happened)

This one has got to be my favorite holiday inspired look!!! I used three nail polishes Revlon Cherry Pop, Revlon Top Speed Glitz & Glam and a Sinful Colors silver glitter. 

Everytime I say glitz and glam I think glitzyglam, like Elle & Blair. Maybe that's just me! =]

I tried to put the silver glitter on the part closest to my nail and the Revlon glitter toward the tips. 

Now this next one is one I am a tad bit embarrassed about.

I attempted to copy this look by BubzBeauty

But I did not achieve it very well as I have rather short nails, whereas Bubz has very long, square nails. 

I used a Revlon white polish, two Essie shades (will insert names when I am home) and a Sinful Colors black polish. 

So this one is one I am in LOVE with. 

It is very holiday appropriate without being a dark shade. 

It reminds me of a winter wonderland. 

This look came out of an accident. 

I had just used the Ulta mint condition polish (which I think is poorly named because it isn't green/mint at all). 

Then I put a sparkly pink shade (will insert name) by Nicole by OPI. 

I didn't like that as an end product so I added a NYX glitter shade (will insert name) and loved it! 

I am going to do one nail with both glitters and one without and see if it makes a difference or not. I will post that pic into here once I do it! =]

If you own a home, apartment, condo, etc.

or just rent one.

You know all the "lovely" little joys that come with it!

Last night our toilet overflowed. 

Yes.

You read that right overflowed!

It's wasn't just clogged with too much toilet paper, it was clogged to the point that it overflowed.

Over course we were out eating dinner and running errands whilst the water was flowing over the top of the porcelain thrown. 

Oh joy. 

It was disgusting. 

This is not my picture or a good depiction of what happened but it cracked me up.

It's December 3rd and my boyfriend leaves the country in two days for 15 days.

It will be the longest we have ever been apart.

 I'm not sure how it will go but it will leave me with a lot of time to myself, which can be spent doing homework and studying for finals (the perfect student's time would be) or it can be spent doing homework and studying AND blogging, filming, and editing. 

I know I should wait 'til after finals because really it is so close, but how can I when I will have a quiet home to myself? 

Also, this is completely lagged behind my YouTube.

 I have two new tutorials and a few reviews, none of which I have posted on here! I just finished taking pictures (with my iPhone! Camera is dead and the focus is actually amazing on the iPhone, but never fear I am getting my trusty Cybershot back this weekend! 

I hope to have this up-to-date and rolling with much more stuff by Christmas! YAY. =]
